this & that. then this, this and this.

19 Dec

I’ve been quiet around here but definitely not idle! December is a busy busy time – to say the least! I thought I’d take a quick moment and share with you what I’ve been up to. This includes but, is not limited to party throwing, present sewing, home improving, patching but not painting, gallery wall making and birthday cake baking. Sadly, this does not include much business-ing or Etsy shop listing.

Now, to say what I should have said at the beginning of the month: Have a happy Christmas, merry times with friends and family whether you celebrate Christmas or not and I’ll see you after January 13th 2015!!!

giving thanks & one last push

Hi all!

I wanted to take a tic to thank people for coming out to the two craft shows I did this season. I was able to meet a lot of new people which is always fun. It’s also great to hear how my stuff is received by all of you – I even had a mum take a photo of her baby wearing a bib she bought and email it to me that same day! it was really nice.

So, it was a successful couple of fairs but I do have a few items left over and I’d love for them to find a home this Holiday season. They include a couple cushion covers, totes and kids’ backpacks. All were sold for $30-35 and are down to $10!

Here they are:

If you’re interested you can message me here, on Facebook, or email me at iheartannasophia@gmail.com

We can even work out a deal if you buy multiple items!

Thanks very much!

just bear with me…

I know I know I know, Christmas? Already? But, I’ve got to get it out there so you can plan your day!

I’ll be doing a little craft fair here in south Etobicoke at Franklin Horner Community Centre (432 Horner Avenue M8W 2B2). It’s Saturday November 15th from 9am till 2pm.

This’ll be a good one to come to because I’ll be selling all of my old/original items at a super discounted price (it’s also the only one I’m doing this season). I’m making room for all my new designs. I’ll have tote bags and cushion covers, some bibs and pacifier tethers, sunglasses pouches, and dog bandanas (small dogs mostly). You can expect them to be 50% off!!!!!!! Soooo, a lined tote bag which was $30-35 I’ll be selling for $15. Amazing! I know!

Here’s the flyer:

Soooo, I’ve finally listed some items in my etsy shop. Yay! You can take a peek here and here and here too.

It’s all baby stuff right now, but I’ll be making more adult totes and cushion covers shortly. I’m very excited about this. Like very, very excited.

Here’s a cute pic of some of my stuff in action! And, by stuff I mean the pacifier tether and my little mover and shaker!

it was a productive nap time. with a bit of nostalgic inspiration from my mum.

11 Sep

We’ve been lucky enough lately to be in a bit of a nice routine at home. Evie goes down for her morning nap and James relaxes with a snack and a show while I sew. I like this.

IMG_3653Today’s nap was a productive one, I made a bandana bib and a zippered pouch out of the tie dyed fabric from the other day. It was a good opportunity to test out a different size of pouch as I haven’t settled on sizes yet. I do know however, that I’ll be selling a small one and a big one! I’m pretty happy with how this one turned out.

And, on a slightly different note. I’m here at my mum’s house and she went into her basement of treasures and brought up some old art and design books. These bring back memories for me. I would refer to them when doing school projects. I opened one up called “Hands-On Design” and this is what I saw:

IMG_3666A super cool example of DIY button making. This kid LOVES DIY button making!! Thing is though, you’d see this guy on Queen St. today and he’d be the coolest person around.

IMG_3670Then I turned the page and I just had to share this Josef Albers designed alphabet. I really love the simplicity of the shapes (only 10 used in the whole thing). I’m a fan of the colours too.

My mum has always got something interesting to find in that deep dark basement of hers.

it’s been a while and i miss you

IMG_3550I’ve been busy working on a few things including this little darling. She’s already 8 months old!! It’s been a whirlwind but I think I’ve got my bearings which means I can think of other things like sewing and screen printing!!!

What little Evie is holding on to in the photo are little rattles that I’ve sewn up. They’re hand printed and sewn by me out of unbleached cotton, soft flannelette and black corduroy for some interesting texture.

I’m going to be adding to this website as well as to my etsy shop bibs & pacifier tethers for babies and also an assortment of screen printed bags and totes & cushion covers in the next little while. So stayed tuned for more. …I’m VERY excited to finally have this part of my life up and running again!

Welcome! to the newest members of the family – the Super Loveys!
These little guys are little stuffed bunnies with capes! And a pocket! And we can’t forget a tail!

I came up with the idea for the lovey/stuffy because I’ve got a little boy, but didn’t know what he’d like more – a blanket or a soft toy. I had a stuffed puppy named Fifi when I was little and my brother had a blanket. So, my solution to the self imposed conundrum was to create both in one!

And, so, the Super Lovey was born. They’re $25 ea. If you’re interested email me… I’ll be posting them on etsy on Monday when I ask my local postmaster how much it will cost to ship these little guys. ….I’ve also got a cat, dog and teddy in the works. Stay tuned!
