dots, lines & tattoo designs

30 Sep

slow and steady wins the race right? Technically I’m not running a race nor should I view running a business as a race but, my point is that things are moving slowly and I’m OK with it.

And, by things moving slowly I mean me making things to share and sell and have you enjoy. My etsy shop is now (re)open with some super cool baby items. Which is great. So, now I’ve been working on my designs for my textiles, making my screens for screen printing, bugging the hell out of my brother for some tattoo flash designs and tomorrow I’ll be running around Toronto like a crazy person sourcing my raw textiles and such.

I’m excited about using some of my brother Peter and sister-in-law Caroline’s tattoo flash in my designs. They’re both amazing artists – Pete works out of TCB in Toronto and Caroline out of Good Point in Oakville. If anyone is looking for some quality work you should definitely check ’em out. Alongside some traditional tattoo flash are my own designs. I’ve got a million of them in mind but, I’ll start with some simple lines, dots and checks and not to mention my signature heart design. I like to use India Ink when creating my designs, it’s important to me that you can still see my hand in the image; the fact that it was made by me, by hand and is still apparent to you is key.

Soooo, I’ve finally listed some items in my etsy shop. Yay! You can take a peek here and here and here too.

It’s all baby stuff right now, but I’ll be making more adult totes and cushion covers shortly. I’m very excited about this. Like very, very excited.

Here’s a cute pic of some of my stuff in action! And, by stuff I mean the pacifier tether and my little mover and shaker!

i’m so excited to start screen printing

15 Feb

20130215-195434.jpgI made this screen of the frenchies a year and a half ago and am FINALLY using it! I’m so excited to finally start screen printing again. It’s been years!

I’ll be working on more designs and screens over the next few months. I can’t wait to share them as I go.

If you’re interested in buying the frenchie tote, message me on facebook. I’ll be listing it in my etsy shop shortly. I was too excited to take etsy calibre photos – I had to share asap!

barbapapa love

25 Jan

I made my first etsy sale this week! Yay!

And, it happend to be a little blue drawstring backpack for kids with a Barbapapa front pocket. Sale number two for this week was an adult size Barbapapa tote.

I love the fabric too! I’m going to make some pants for my little boy out of it.

If anyone else is interested in the Barbapapa, I’ve got a limited amount of fabric left, so when it’s all gone, that’s it! I’m going to make a couple of totes and drawstring backpacks, maybe a cushion. Does anyone have any other ideas for the fabric?

let’s do more!

8 Sep

It’s been busy here around the house. But, I did manage to add more listings to Etsy the other day. And, man oh man it felt good! By just  listing the stuff has motivated me to do more and add more. …now to just find the time….

finally!

31 Aug

Here are some photos of what I’ve been working on.

After a wonderful vacation cottaging I’ve been busy sewing a few things like totes, bibs and pacifier clips in between caring for my teething baby! I’ll be taking better photos for Etsy shortly.

don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”

10 Aug

Please, take a gander at the first of many Barbapapa projects – it’s a toy bin for Baby J!

I thought I’d leave you with that little something since in the upcoming weeks I’ll be focusing on sewing so I can add to my eight items on etsy!! Yay!

Since it’s Friday and Welcome Week has wound down here at annasophia.ca I just want to say a whole hearted thank you to everyone who has shown interest in this little venture of mine. I really didn’t expect even one view for the first little while – so – thank you! It’s been an exciting first week for me and I promise much more to come!
