this & that. then this, this and this.

19 Dec

I’ve been quiet around here but definitely not idle! December is a busy busy time – to say the least! I thought I’d take a quick moment and share with you what I’ve been up to. This includes but, is not limited to party throwing, present sewing, home improving, patching but not painting, gallery wall making and birthday cake baking. Sadly, this does not include much business-ing or Etsy shop listing.

Now, to say what I should have said at the beginning of the month: Have a happy Christmas, merry times with friends and family whether you celebrate Christmas or not and I’ll see you after January 13th 2015!!!

taking a break

16 Oct

already!? No, not really. I’m just taking a bit of time to do some seasonal sewing for IKEA! It’s nice to stay in the loop at the store since I worked there for almost 10 years! Plus, it’s nice to have the chunk of change just before the Christmas holidays – if I may be so frank.

IMG_4487I absolutely love their textiles so it’s a nice treat to do some simple albeit large scale sewing. It was working with those textiles that got me back into sewing and on this adventure after all. That being said I can’t wait to start back up on my own stuff. Over the past couple of weeks and in between taking care of kids I’ve made a couple screens to start printing with. I may even take a break from my break and print a couple things tonight. We’ll see.

See you soon!!

oh yeah! valentine’s day!

22 Jan

I can’t believe I forgot about Valentine’s Day!

I received a message on Etsy from a user letting me know she used one of my signature heart cushion covers in her treasury (a grouping of themed/like items) for a country themed valentine’s. Awesome! It was at that moment that I smacked my forehead a la Homer Simpson and exclaimed “oh yeah! Valentine’s Day!” I couldn’t believe it didn’t occur to me that my logo and signature HEART cushion covers would be the perfect gift for home decor lovers for Valentine’s Day!

Man, did I feel silly!

So, check them out, they’re perfect for Valentine’s Day but will work in your home all year round.

let’s do more!

8 Sep

It’s been busy here around the house. But, I did manage to add more listings to Etsy the other day. And, man oh man it felt good! By just  listing the stuff has motivated me to do more and add more. …now to just find the time….

don’t forget to say “please” and “thank you”

10 Aug

Please, take a gander at the first of many Barbapapa projects – it’s a toy bin for Baby J!

I thought I’d leave you with that little something since in the upcoming weeks I’ll be focusing on sewing so I can add to my eight items on etsy!! Yay!

Since it’s Friday and Welcome Week has wound down here at annasophia.ca I just want to say a whole hearted thank you to everyone who has shown interest in this little venture of mine. I really didn’t expect even one view for the first little while – so – thank you! It’s been an exciting first week for me and I promise much more to come!

from sweden with love

9 Aug

Look at what my friend Emma brought back from Sweden for me! 5 metres of Barbapapa fabric! Man oh man, my little guy is definitely going to have some Barbapapa in his room.

I used to love reading my Barbapapa books when I was little. Anyone else out there love Barbapapa as much as I do?

You don’t have to go to Sweden for your Barbapapa fix – these great Toronto stores carry some fun items: Studio Brillantine, Magic Pony and Good Egg.

just a taste

7 Aug

So, you met my family yesterday, now, I think I need to give you a taste of what I create – since that’s kind of why I’m here.

So here you go! These are a couple examples of the cushion covers I’m currently selling on my etsy site.

I love fun colours and patterns, I use buttons and snaps and sometimes a zipper. I have tons of ideas and way more in the works, so stay tuned!
